U.S. Congressional Bill H.R. 6265 recently passed in the House and requires the Department of Defense, the Department of State, the Department of the Treasury, the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, and other appropriate federal agencies to report to Congress a strategy to disrupt and dismantle narcotics production (Captagon) and trafficking networks linked to the regime of Bashar al-Assad in Syria.

This necessary bill is attacking this cheap (it's called the poor man's cocaine), highly addictive and profitable (Captagon generates billions of dollars in revenue) drug and its trade from the top down and rightly so. EquanomicsGlobal is also concerned about the unregulated end-user demand - the bottom - required to generate those billions in revenue. It is at the bottom that the drug trade metastasizes. It will destabilize and narcotize neighborhoods, schools, communities and small nations. Top and Bottom. This is not an either/or but rather a both/and proposition.

Captagon is called the jihadi drug because it has been used as a war pill for groups like ISIS and others. However, it is indeed more than just the 'jihadi' drug. Why? Syria has become a narco-state. The world's No. 1 producer of Captagon. Besides the obvious reasons why this is troubling, Syria has not only become a narco-state but also a puppet-state and its master, Vladimir Putin, is pulling those Captagon strings. An addicted people are a defenseless people. 154 million of these pills were recently interdicted at an Italian port. We must realize we're dealing with players of the most serious kind here. Putin is a warmonger with his very own narco-state.
